Born Music Online is jamming to Anja's new single Poster Child of California and its accompanying music video.

Anja talked to Bitch Media magazine about her many experiences in the music industry, from Slovenia to the USA and how the obstacles she's faced helped define her career. 

"Imagine being so close to achieving a lifelong dream, and having it dashed—twice. Anja Kotar, a 20-year-old Slovenian pop artist, experienced this trauma: Once, when she auditioned for her native country’s X Factor, but was too young to compete, and again when America’s immigration laws prevented her from competing on The Voice. But Kotar didn’t give up on her dream of being a pop star. Now, with the release of her debut album, Nomad, which she raised the money to produce, Kotar is closer to her goals than ever before."

Dana Jacobs from Music Existence wrote Anja's debut single from NOMAD "defies satisfying comparison in the best possible way. In the incredibly catchy track, the 20-year old Slovenian singer combines unique dance beats with a healthy dose of synth for a sound that is somewhere between K. Flay and Betty Who, while still showcasing Kotar’s gentle yet commanding voice."
